Andrea Hoshmand McAfee

Andrea entered the world of assisted reproduction over twenty years ago as a three-time egg donor. The experience profoundly impacted her, and she maintains contact with her recipient families to this day. After graduating from Questrom School of Business and the Maryland School of Public Policy, she spent several years working for the federal government. In 2008, she moved back to Hawaii where she founded the Hawaii Surrogacy Center, the first provider of surrogacy services in her home state. Over a decade later, she relocated to the Philadelphia area where colleagues encouraged her to establish a sister agency. The Surrogacy Center of Philadelphia quickly became the leading provider of surrogacy services in the region. Andrea is honored that so many Intended Parents from across the country have trusted her team to help complete their families. Chesapeake Surrogacy Center is the third agency established under her guidance, meeting the need for a local agency that focuses on families in Virginia, Maryland and DC.

An Experienced Surrogacy Case Management Team

Our team has over 15 years of experience in Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) and gestational surrogacy case management.  Nearly every member of our team has walked through the process themselves, as intended parents or surrogates, so they understand the questions, hopes and worries that come with this journey.

From reviewing medical records and coordinating screenings to liaising with attorneys and escrow agencies, your case management team keeps your surrogacy journey organized and on track.

How We Support Intended Parents and Surrogates

We provide comprehensive case management for both intended parents and gestational carriers:

For Intended Parents, we help you:

  • Understand the surrogacy process from embryo transfer to delivery

  • Coordinate with local fertility clinics, medical professionals and legal counsel

  • Manage payments through an independent escrow agency with milestone-based disbursements

  • Stay updated with regular communication from your case manager

For Surrogates, we help you:

  • Navigate screening, medical appointments and legal documentation

  • Access psychological, emotional and logistical support

  • Understand your compensation structure and benefits

  • Feel heard, respected and supported throughout pregnancy and postpartum

Our goal is to ensure that everyone involved in the surrogacy journey, intended parents, surrogates and their families feels informed, respected and cared for.

Clear Communication and Financial Transparency

We believe that trust in a surrogacy agency is built on clarity. From the beginning, we explain the surrogacy costs, timelines and responsibilities involved in a gestational surrogacy journey. Our milestone-based fee structure, independent escrow management and open communication help reduce uncertainty so you can move through the process with confidence.
